
Airdrie is a city in Alberta. Located just north of Calgary within the Calgary-Edmonton Corridor. The City of Airdrie is part of Calgary's Census Metropolitan Area and a member community of the Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP). Due to its proximity to Calgary, Airdrie's population has been exploding in recent years. The city's boundaries are completely within the rural Rocky View County.
As of the 2009 civic census, Airdrie's population is 38,091.
Airdrie is a bedroom community and industrial center. Its primary body of water is Nose Creek, which is the focal point of a number of city parks and green spaces including Nose Creek Park.
Airdrie is situated on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway which connects Calgary and Edmonton, thus making it a small transportation hub.
Recent annexation of land by Airdrie to the south, coupled with recent expansion of Calgary's city limits in July 2007, have placed the two cities' boundaries within only a few kilometers of each other.

Balzac is a hamlet in the southern portion of the Canadian province of Alberta, in Rocky View County. It is located immediately west of Queen Elizabeth II Highway, at the intersection with Highway 566, 24 km (15 mi) north of Calgary city centre and 12 km (7 mi) south of Airdrie.
The hamlet is located in census division No. 6 and in the federal riding of Wild Rose. It is administered by Rocky View MD.
As of July 31, 2007, Balzac is now located immediately adjacent to Calgary's newly expanded northern city limits.

Crossfield is a town (incorporated) in southern Alberta, in Canada.
Crossfield is located 27 miles north of the City of Calgary, on Highway 2.
As a rail station on the Calgary to Edmonton (C&E) line of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Crossfield was founded in 1892. Crossfield was named after an engineer with the Canadian Pacific Railway survey crew.
In 1980, the Town of Crossfield was incorporated.

According to the 2006 Census, the town's population has grown by 46.7% since 2001. Canada's Second fastest growing community. According to a 2009 census the population of Okotoks is 21,690.
